OUR ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Temple Cowley United Reformed Church believes that God calls us to care for the earth — not to pollute it, waste its resources, or upset its natural balances without good reason.

WE COMMIT THIS CHURCH TO GOOD STEWARDSHIP, in particular by :

Using electricity generated as far as possible from renewable sources (wind, wave, solar etc.)

Through efficient and well-planned heating and lighting, and good insulation (within the constraints of the present building), minimizing energy waste.

avoiding the use of non-biodegradable or harmful cleaning materials, fertilisers and weedkillers &c through the purchase, where possible, of environmentally safer products.

ensuring wherever possible that consumable materials (e.g. paper) come from sustainable sources.

With the cooperation of every church member, and in partnership with other user groups, keeping the grounds free from litter at all times.

We will encourage and help each other to follow this policy in our personal lives.
